Feral Cat Assistance Program
- Check your e-mail frequently to ensure your reservation was accepted and confirmed.
- After your reservation was confirmed by e-mail, you'll be advised as follows:
- FRIDAY evening 6-7 p.m. you attend a mandatory humane trapping class at 4100 Randelman Road, Greensboro, NC. In class you borrow FCAP's humane cat traps. Fee is $75/trap, 100% refundable upon the trap's return in good working condition.
- FRIDAY and SATURDAY evening you trap feral/community cats as instructed.
- Never leave a set trap unattended! Cats must weight 4 pounds or more for spay/neuter.
- SATURDAY evening 4-5 p.m. or Sunday morning 7-8 a.m. you deliver trapped cats to FCAP at 4100 Randelman Road, Greensboro, NC.
- SUNDAY morning veterinarians and volunteers arrive to spay/neuter/vaccinate and left-ear-tip between 65-95 feral/community cats!
- SUNDAY afternoon you return to FCAP at your assigned time, reclaim cats, and receive care instructions.
- SUNDAY night you keep cats safely in their traps, inside your climate controlled room, overnight.
- MONDAY afternoon you safely release the cats to their prior location.
- THURSDAY evening (or sooner) you return clean, loaned traps to FCAP.
- MORE cats? Repeat this process to request another reservation for next month.
Congratulations!
You've reduced proliferation of homeless cats, improved the health of existing
homeless cats, and even reduced expenses at your County Animal Shelter.
